In our house someone is always in need of something to do with clothing. Someone’s pants are always too short, someone’s shoes are too tight, and someone no longer likes the shorts I just purchased them 2 weeks ago. Between the changing of the seasons and the fact kids just don’t stop growing, buying clothes for my kids seems to be a monthly activity. I’m sure I’m not the only mom who deals with the never ending cycle of needing more clothing for your kids!

While my two older kids Zion and Elle both enjoy shopping, we unfortunately don’t always have the time it takes to go from store to store looking for new pieces to add to their wardrobe. And while online shopping definitely helps me manage my time more efficiently, if something doesn’t fit or isn’t the perfect style, return shipping, waiting for the credit, and reordering is a major turn off. Thankfully Stitch Fix has created a much better solution!
Stitch Fix, originally just for women, has now moved into servicing the entire family introducing Stitch Fix Kids! On the Stitch Fix website these stylist curated boxes are referred to as “fixes” which honestly there is no better chosen word! Whether you have toddlers or teenagers, Stitch Fix Kids can make the shopping process so much easier for you ranging in sizes 2T-16! Once you get “fixed” especially when it comes to your children, you’ll never want to go back to traditional shopping again!
This year for the Easter holiday we decided to treat our older kids Zion and Elle to a Stitch Fix Kids box. (Hollis, our three year old, got a box too, but he had no clue what was going on!) At 13 and 12, Zion and Elle have outgrown the typical woven basket stuffed with chocolate bunnies and pastel colored accessories, and yet my mama heart still desired to treat them to something fun they would actually enjoy. This was also a very practical choice as they needed new clothes for the warmer months too!
The entire process from start to finish was fun for them and a joy for me to watch. We started by setting up their Stitch Fix Kids account online which I allowed them to do on their own. This is a one time process, so once its done (unless you just want to) you never have to update this again. Zion and Elle chose the colors and patterns they liked and left notes for their stylist of things they specifically were looking to receive for Spring. We received an estimated ship date and literally counted down the days on the calendar until it arrived. Similar to Christmas morning, they patiently yet anxiously awaited the date! Little did they know they could have previewed their box online a couple of days before it ever arrived. I decided to keep that little detail to myself in order to make the surprise, well….more surprising! In just about a week, the boxes arrived on our front porch.

Upon arrival they tore through their personalized Stitch Fix Kids boxes holding up each item to see if it was to their liking. After trying on their items, they chose what they wanted to keep, what they wanted to send back, and I packaged it all up in the prepaid envelope and scheduled a post office pick up. I checked out online, only paying for what I kept, and never once did had to leave my house for the entire process! Included in each box was a letter from their stylist asking them questions and getting to know a little more about them and based on the items the kids like, they went back on their profile to let their stylist know what they would like to receive in their next box!
You can choose to schedule for your children to receive a new box every single month, or you can select specific dates, or place their fixes on hold. The awesome thing is you never pay for the clothing before hand and the $20 stylist fee can be applied to anything you purchase from that specific box! My personal opinion is if you know you have to buy clothing anyways for your kids, you lose absolutely nothing by trying Stitch Fix Kids.
