Boys will be boys, am I right?? I swear my 12 year old son would wear the same tshirt and shorts every single day if it were not for the mandatory shower law I instituted! He doesn't care if the pieces match or if he wore them two days ago and spilled spaghetti sauce all down the front. I have to remind him other people can see and smell him! Slowly but surely he is starting to get the picture. I wish I could say it was me, but honestly I think its more about the girl that he is starting to like! Hey, I will take any and all reinforcements at this point.

As my son gets older he is developing somewhat of a fashion sense, meaning he knows what he likes and what he doesn't like. Right now his favorite stores are Hollister, Abercrombie, H&M, and Aeropostle. I personally only shop during sales cause goodness knows clothes for kids can get expensive and all of these stores usually have some sort of sale going on all the time.

When shopping for my teen son I like to stick to the basics and buy things I know they will wear on repeat. He doesn't "dress up" often, but I do like for there to be a few pieces they can wear if and when the time is right. I also stick to a color theme so pretty much all of their clothes coordinate together. Kinda a wardrobe capsule if you will. For pants I stick to basic colors like denim, grey, black, and camo, and then I'll add fun pops of color with graphic tees.

Perfect for layering. I like to buy these without too many crazy graphics so he can wear these to church as well.

Perfect for church, family pictures, or even a nice dinner out. Would be great layered with number 7.

Short sleeve graphic tees are just a no brainer for teen boys.

I'm a sucker for a white shoe and they go with pretty much everything.

For the times I ask him to "put on something nice."

The thermal henley is my favorite to add a little bit more warmth. Buy these in a solid color for easy layering! They go with everything!

Just enough warmth for the fall months and looks great layered with a hoodie!

There are so many different styles of jeans now! My son isn't a fan of the skinny jean however doesn't relaxed fit jeans either. The straight leg jeans that I have linked here are a really nice, casual, comfortable fit.

11. Basic Hoodie -

I like to buy these in solid color too.

Just a fun little addition.
