A diaper bag is without a doubt in the top 3 must haves when you have a baby. When selecting your diaper bag definitely consider both style, functionality, comfort and convenience. With babes 1 and 2 I didn't have a backpack diaper bag. Looking back I don't know why because I needed every hand (and everyone else's hands) I could get having two kids under the age of 1! I vividly remember the frustration of the strap falling off my shoulder as would bend down or as I was holding my little ones hand and the strap falling to my wrist as a dragged my bag along.
With babe 3 I discovered the ever needed backpack diaper bag! Instead of investing in a quality backpack diaper bag like I should have, I decided to purchase a leather backpack and use it as a diaper bag. The problem was it was extremely small and I often found myself stuffing it to the brim and stretching the zipper just to get it shut. It also had zero organizational capabilities so I would throw everything inside and have to rummage inside the dark interior to find anything or take everything out to find the one thing I actually needed.
When Lily Jadecontacted me and asked if I would review one of their bags I squealed!! Lily Jade was at the top of my "I NEED THIS" list and I adored their many styles! Every review I had ever read gave it 5 stars and any of my girlfriends that already had a Lily Jade bag RAVED over it!!
When my Lily Jadebag arrived my very reaction was about the size. I knew it was large, but I had no idea it was THAT big! My next almost immediate reaction was the quality! The leather was unbelievable soft, yet durable. The Camel color that I selected was rich and deep and almost caramel-like in color. Caramel-like....that's a word, right??

I chose the Rosie Camel & Jade bagbecause I wanted a flat front with a zipper. I'm obsessed with easy access zipper compartments on the outside of bags! (The Rosie actually has a zipper on the front and back!) I throw my phone, my lip glosses, my keys, Certs (yes I said Certs) really anything I need to grab without even needing to look. When my bag is riding shotgun, I can just reach right into that zipper and grab what I need. All the Lily Jade bags are beautifully designed, but for my personal style I loved the rounded shape of the Rosie. Unfortunately my bag, Rosie in Camel is sold out, but there are so many other lovely styles available.
One of my favorite features is the interior for so many, many reasons! Let's start with the color. If you have ever peered into a diaper bag desperately searching for a pacifier, or a toy, or your sanity and wondered why in the world it was so dark in there, you aren't alone!! Lily Jadesaw our need for a light colored interior and rescued us!! Inside there is also a removable, washable organizer with handles. It has 12 pockets along the inside and outside and it comes with a matching changing pad. Organization insanity Mamas!! The removable feature is also super cool because babies don't keep and you won't be needing a diaper bag for the rest of your life! You can however use your Lily Jade bag well after the babyhood phase ends! You can fill those compartments with non baby items or simply remove the organizer and use it as a weekender bag!!
The bag comes with a long removable strap as well. You can use this strap as a long shoulder strap or you can weave it through the hooks on the back of the bag to create the backpack feature.
I mentioned the size earlier, but it's definitely worth touching on again. The bag is huge which is EXACTLY what you want in a diaper bag. Trust me, bigger (as in most cases) is always better when in comes to diaper bags. Below you will see a flat lay of what I carry in my bag. In addition to these items I always carry at least 1 bottle of water, body spray (because kids), and my wallet. You will notice in addition to my baby necessities I have items for my older two kids and a few of my own things. If you are a new mom, you know you always end up with other random items in your bag. It never fails, by the end of a busy day away from home my bag is filled with clothes the kids didn't want to wear, or water bottles they didn't want to carry, or even the random stick or rock or leaf they thought was cool and wanted to bring home.
Overall Lily Jade Cotook every single possible thought a mother has ever had and put it into one diaper bag. If you have little ones, are about to have a baby, or if you are someone who likes space with organization Lily Jade bags are a must purchase. And while I know most of us don't mind looking all mom like, the bag doesn't feel or really look like a diaper bag! Your kid will probably give it away though!
